about the experience
TRAVEL WITH RICCIO
Come with me on an off the beaten path, unique travel experience in the heart of the Italian Renaissance - Florence. Having spent a great deal of time in Florence, I have recently begun to offer personalized tours of this beautiful city I know and love so well. We will explore its endless hidden gems, including private palazzos and gardens, as well as its incredible array of local wines and regional foods. We will delve into the vibrant culture and history of Florence's four distinct neighborhoods, the Medici, Michelangelo, Florentine founding fashion families and more. I will also arrange private shopping experiences at my favorite artisan shops to highlight the quality of goods still being produced by small artisans and designers.
This is small group travel exclusively for women, making it perfect for friend groups, mothers, daughters, and sisters. But if you have a different group or a specific experience in mind, I can customize the trip to suit your needs with a minimum person requirement. Join me on this special adventure and discover the beauty of Florence like an insider.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book a trip with you to Italy?
Please follow the travel tab on my website and fill out the survey. I will be in touch upon your completion of the survey!
Do you accept payment plans?
I have a payment platform that allows for the sum to be divided up in the months remaining after the initial deposit is made.
What are the top tourist attractions in Italy?
There are many! My experiences offer a different view than a museum or monument tour. We pack a lot in but it’s a pretty comprehensive experience of culture, history, art, food and shopping.
What is the local currency and how do I exchange money?
Italy is part of the EU therefore the Euro is the currency. There are ATMs everywhere. I highly recommend you come with a debit card.
How far in advance should I get a new passport?
Renew your passport approximately nine months before it expires. Check the expiration date because certain countries require passports to remain valid for up to six months after travel. Also, some airlines do not allow you to board if you do not meet this requirement.
Do I need a visa to visit Italy?
Not unless you decide not to go home and stay more than 3 months.
Is it safe to travel to Italy?
Absolutely.
What is the weather like in Italy?
Ever changing. It is in a valley so the weather moves through. I recommend layers when packing.
Are there any cultural customs I should be aware of while visiting Italy?
I don’t recommend activewear for walking around town. Italians dress and you will get more respect for looking, well… respectable.
What are the most common forms of travel while in Italy?
The trains are wonderful but you can hire a car or fly depending on your destination.
What will we eat while in Italy?
So much great food you can’t imagine. It’s one of the main highlights of being there!
